Who needs the Oscars?

AWE was the proud winner of an OSPA for ‘Outstanding Event Security Team’ at the 2018 UK Outstanding Security Performance Awards.

The OSPAs event took place at the Royal Lancaster in London earlier this month. Over 400 security professionals gathered to celebrate outstanding performance examples across the sector.

The AWE team won their section for organizing the complex security arrangements for a large-scale event during the summer of 2017, when staff were able to invite relatives onto the AWE Aldermaston site for a Family Day.

The OSPAs recognise companies and individuals. The criteria for the awards are based on key factors which contribute to and characterize, outstanding performance. OSPAs founder Professor Martin Gill commented:”This year saw a significant rise in the quality and number of entries received and all finalists should feel very proud. The judging process is strict and robust. Each entry must achieve a fixed score threshold to become a finalist, ensuring consistent quality across the competition; which means all our finalists – individuals, teams and companies – represent outstanding performance at the highest level.”
