AWE donates 48K to Bucket List Wishes

Following a two-year partnership, the generosity of AWE and staff has seen its charity partner Bucket List Wishes (BLW) able to grant 20 wishes for terminally ill adults in the Hampshire and West Berkshire region.

The local charity helps those with a life-limiting diagnosis achieve one wish from their bucket list. Through its fund-raising efforts AWE has supported a number of wishes including a wedding renewal, an up-close zoo experience, and family hair and make-up professional photo shoot.

Over the last two years, AWE staff have supported the charity through both volunteering and fundraising, including staff helping out at BLW’s Bling and Bellini Ball, plus litter-picking duties at events where the charity had a fundraising stand. Staff also donated cocktail dresses and ball gowns to BLW’s dress sale. Fundraising events included football tournaments, charity quizzes and tackling a 24-hour run and muddy obstacle course as part of AWE’s annual Team Challenge.

AWE’s Charity Fund Secretary, Michele Maidment, said: “Everyone at AWE has been thrilled to support Bucket List Wishes. We’ve all been touched to hear how the money raised is helping to fulfil the wishes of local terminally ill adults and their families.”

Founder of BLW, Gini Hackett, commented: “All of us at Bucket List Wishes will be forever grateful for your donations, our wishes don’t just help the people that are poorly, but they help create lasting memories for their loved ones.

Currently BLW’s wish services are on hold due to Covid-19. However, the charity has recently sent ‘care & cheer you up’ packages with handmade cards to their wish people, ensuring they are not forgotten during these uncertain times.
