AWE makes donation to Citizens Advice Tadley

AWE’s Charity Fund has made a £1,000 donation to Citizens Advice in Tadley. The funding is going towards PPE allowing staff and volunteers to safely return to the Citizens Advice office so they can continue to provide advice, support and information to local people.

AWE’s donation has helped purchase screen dividers for use at desks, plus additional PPE consumables such as hand sanitiser and wipes. Citizens Advice Tadley is a local, independent charity and a member of a national association – Citizens Advice – that provides free, confidential and independent advice to help people overcome their problems.

Nationally, Citizens Advice has seen a significant demand on its services to help people navigate the worst impacts of the coronavirus pandemic. The Tadley team has been offering help and advice through email and webchat, as well as over the telephone during the pandemic. The new screen dividers and PPE consumables will contribute to a COVID-secure working environment allowing staff and volunteers to return to the Tadley office.

AWE’s Charity Fund is set up to support staff in their charitable fund raising and promote good causes in the local community. Many of our staff also give their own time to support their chosen charities. AWE’s Charity Fund Secretary, Michele Maidment, said: “The current situation has impacted on families and individuals locally and resulted in a greater demand on the Citizens Advice. We are happy to support the Tadley team which is helping local residents during these uncertain times.”

Rachel Campbell, Chief Officer at Citizens Advice Tadley said “We are immensely grateful to AWE for their kind donation. This has allowed us to purchase new screens, so we are ready for some of our amazing home working advisers to safely return to the office and for our new volunteers to come in for training and to see how we work.”
