Mandy Savage

Executive Director, Engineering

Mandy Savage is the Executive Director Engineering at AWE. She leads the Engineering function who provide the critical engineering capability and expertise to deliver for the programme and our mission.

Mandy has a wealth of experience as an engineer and is an industry recognised leader with extensive experience in the Defence and Aerospace industry.  She has a BSC Hons in Physics and Electronics and is a renowned and well-respected engineer.

Mandy has held both Engineering and Programme Leadership positions leading large functions and complex strategic programmes for Lockheed Martin UK, Cobham Plc, Raytheon Systems Limited and most recently BAE systems.

Mandy has experience in leading international teams with diverse cultural backgrounds to deliver programmes across a broad spread of technologies in multiple locations including Australia, Europe, USA. Her skills and experience of transforming business capabilities to deliver complex bids and programmes has resulted in Mandy being a decisive, committed, results focused business leader.

Passionate about engineering as a profession, Mandy is a Fellow in the Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET), a Chartered Project Management Professional (ChPP).

Before joining AWE, Mandy gained experience at a number of different businesses including most recently at BAE Systems where she was Head of Engineering, Project Management, Quality and Technology.

Mandy lives in Dorset with her husband Hugh and has two teenage daughters, Olivia, and Lily. She is a proud mum to a Golden Retriever called Charlie.
